Friends Of The Urban Forest’s 30th Anniversary Block Party

In San Francisco, Friends Of The Urban Forest (FUF) has spent the past three decades promoting the benefits of greening the city with trees in order to create urban forests for all to enjoy.

FUF is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a free Block Party on Saturday, 17 September 2011 (1-4PM PST) at its headquarters in the Presidio (1007 General Kennedy Avenue). The organization began in 1981 with a Neighborhood Tree Planting of 50 trees in Noe Valley.[1. Friends Of The Urban Forest, “TREEscapes,” Summer 2011.] It currently plants approximately 1,200 trees annually.[2. Ibid.]

The 30th Anniversary Block Party will include food trucks, Anchor Steam beer, massages, a bounce house, music, and other fun activities. Please RSVP to FUF Membership Director Greg Harrell-Edge greg[at] or (415) 268-0785.
